So let me introduce you to the traditional way of celebrating this tradition in India, majorly in West Bengal. Welcome to Sen Photography which has vast years of experience in ‘Annaprashan’( which typically means ‘grain initiation’) photoshoot. This ritual has deeper roots in Bengal and Sen Photography covers it beautifully understanding the spiritual belief in this ritual. In Bengal, this ceremony is popularly known as ‘Mukhe Bhaat’ literally meaning rice in mouth. This ceremony takes place after the baby turns 6 months in the child’s paternal home where his mama(maternal uncle) or dadu(maternal grandfather) does the honour of feeding the child with the first grain of rice. It is an immense pleasure for Sen Photography to capture those precious moments of a child because it had its roots from bengal. So being based in Bengal, we have experienced the event very closely and we have attached sentiments with this tradition.
